FROM MY GLASSES

No this is not Alson but it was given to me by Alson. He is what we call “intellectually disabled”. I was waiting for Farhana at City Hall mrt when I saw Alson giving out these little flyers. He was dressed in a simple blue tee and black pants and was carrying a small black bag with the flyers inside it. Nobody took the flyers from him cos he couldn’t reach the passerby. His arms were a bit close to his body. At first I didn’t notice him cos I thought he was a normal male waiting for a friend like everybody else but when a guy approached him and asked if he could help him give out the flyers, that caught my eye. The guy is very kind. He took a stack of flyers and started giving them out to a lot of people. I asked Alson if he must finish giving out all the flyers before he could go back home or he can just leave as and when he like. He said he can just leave. I offered to help him with another stack of flyers but he said the other guy is already doing it but he can give me one flyer. Then I asked what’s the content and he stood beside me and told me something which I couldn’t really hear and asked me to call the handwritten no. because his old no. (the bold one is not working well). He wrote the no. personally on every single piece of flyer in his bag. And then Farhana arrived and I told Alson I gotta go. We waved and said our goodbyes and I walked out of City Hall mrt.

I’ve been waiting for this ever since I first heard it’s coming to Singapore! So excited to watch it. Finally booked my tix and went with a friend! I decided that this was not to be wasted on a cheapo $55 seat high up where I can’t see shit. So I got one of the expensive ones and boy was it worth every buck and cent! Ok no cent la. But u get it :)

Was browsing the merchandise before the show but they’re really too green for my liking. But the keychain was nice though.

Super stoked just looking at the dragon! Waiting waiting and suddenly POW! It just starts! From then it was 2.5 hours of fun and awesome singing!

Here in Singapore you will be watching an Australian cast. Jemma Rix plays Elphaba (green girl) and Suzie Mathers plays Glinda (blondie). Suzie Mathers has a very opera voice but I tell you, I LOVE THE VOICE OF JEMMA RIX! You just sit in the theatre and listen to her live and you will know what I mean. 

We were talking about the green makeup that Jemma Rix has to put on every night and apparently it’s sponsored by M.A.C. So next time you wanna go to some Halloween party you know where to get your stuff :)

Get ready to be blown away by funny lines, great set design and SUPERB lighting! I don’t watch musicals or plays twice but I’m definitely gonna catch this again before it ends in Feb 2012. You should too!!
